Recorded with only a hand-held microphone and a home tape recorder in Eric Dansby’s living room, the Maniax’s “Off to War” appeared on classic American hardcore compilation, “Not So Quiet on the Western Front,” originally released in 1982 on double-LP and later reissued in 1999 on CD on AT/Sonic Reducer. “Not So Quiet” was the first compilation to document the Northern Cali punk rock scene and featured other local Fresno punk bands Capitol Punishment, NBJ, and Frigidettes, as well as including the first-ever issue of MRNR. |

Full-page photo story that appeared in skate-punk rag Thrasher Magazine (circa 1982) featuring the Maniax’s Mitchell Twins performing at “Fresno Punk Night” at the legendary Mab (aka Mabuhay Gardens in SF). This was the last hardcore punk show ever hosted at the infamous underground club – alas, the Maniax’s final gig ever.
